Button and Bead Fashion Pin

Sep 17, 2019 | Beading Study Group

The Bead Study’s September Meeting will be instructed by Anne DeStefano, who will show members how to make beautiful pins to wear on your garments, hats, purses, and belts. Go through your button jars and find some stunning focal buttons and beads to bring and create your own stunning pins. Think ahead! These would make fashionable pins to give during the holidays.

Anne will provide the pin backs and bring extra buttons, cord, beads and clear nail polish. The pin back can be glued on later if need be.

Supply list:

1 large button at least 1 1/4 in across or larger. Can have two holes or a shank
Beading cord such as C-Lon or S-Lon. Same as used for Kumihimo
Seed beads – assorted sizes
Assorted beads in variety of styles, colors, etc. Note: If using a button with two holes you will need a “fancy” bead that will lay on the front between the two holes.
Scissors
Beading mat
E6000 glue
Clear nail polish

The button project which we did with Ila would work for this project. You may need to glue a piece of fabric on the back to cover the wires.

Members are always welcome to bring their own project to work on at the meetings if you do not want to do the lesson. We welcome you to come and enjoy. Beginners are welcome. Call Carolyn Granados if you need more information.
