One of the highlights of this annual event is the live fashion show in the hour before the doors open. Models show off samples of the items which will be available. It’s common to hear someone in the crowd say, “Ooh, I want that!” This year, we had fashion shows both Saturday and Sunday, with Janet Becker as MC both days. On Saturday, items by exhibiting artisans were shown. On Sunday, members of the group “We Have Art to Wear” modeled their creative works, which were not for sale.
Twenty-four textile and jewelry artists participated. As usual, live music performed in the courtyard by Surface Tension, led by Les Haber, was a hit. Chef Tashika Monique of Blessings Catering served gourmet food which received rave reviews.
