Make Your Own Mold

Feb 11, 2020 | Beading Study Group

It’s quick and easy to make your own buttons, charms and toys, beads and more. In the next Bead Study Group Yvonne Warren will show us how!

We will create molds from random, interesting textures and items such as sea shells, buttons, small toys, keys, etc. We will be able to make molds in minutes using silicone putty. These molds are strong, flexible and reusable. Come and see how easy and inexpensive it is to use household supplies versus pricey commercial products.

Here’s what to bring:

  • Acrylic paint (any color)
  • Corn starch
  • Baby oil
  • Small objects to cast (shells, buttons, keys, gears, beads etc.)

The Beading Study Group meets on the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone is welcome to attend. SCTA and SWSG members participate for free; visitors or guests pay only $5.
