We Did It All on Our Big Day of Doing

Jul 30, 2024 | Events, Workshops

June 8 was a busy, busy day for SCTA but thankfully it wasn’t too hot! Guests strolled through the center and checked out fiber arts materials from 17 vendors, including Elk Grove ACS Discovery Store, visited the patio for the Indigo Day Workshop, and then viewed the wonderful Yarn Bombing Installation completed that morning. Many left with large bags filled with materials for their next project. Some even spent the entire day with us! The SCTA sales table raised an additional $301, which will go directly into our scholarship fund.

A Heartfelt thanks to all who helped:

The 12 members of Team Indigo (Carol Rogala, Claudia Peterson, Deb Derov, Deirdre Spillane-Jimenez, Ellen Moody, Elisa Reutinger, Heather Lee, Julie Fong, Karen Crete, Laurie Berg, Linda Howell and Theresa Sanchez) who helped our 55 guests dye their indigo pieces.

  • Fellow Chairs: LuAnne Hansen/ Indigo Dip Dye Day and Megan Campbell-Miller/Yarn Bombing for making the day a success.
  • SCTA Members who were vendors: we hope you found new homes for your fiber arts stashes!
  • Barbra Lord, Hospitality Chair, who hosted a lovely lunch for vendors and volunteers
  • Janine Grinta, Rose Smith, Suzanne Stalder-Mansu and LuAnne Hansen for donations of materials and finished items for our SCTA sales tables.
  • Grace Larsen (a St Andrews University Student from Scotland) and Sally Eversole who merchandised and handled sales at the SCTA tables.
  • Heather Lee who took vendor donations to the “Broad Room Creative Collective” – a Sacramento Free Art Supply Closet and home to 17 permanent studio artists.
