Why Do We Quilt?

September’s General Membership mtg on Thursday, September 9 at 6pm will be the first LIVE membership meeting this year:  Debbie Moore-Yip will be speaking on “Why Do We Quilt.”  In addition to being a member of SGAC Art by Fire (Potter’s group), Debbie has an AA in Fashion Design from the LA Trade Technical College and a BA in Studio Art from CSU Sacramento. She has been sewing since age 6 and quilting since 1991. During her in-person lecture, she will review common quilting definitions and acronyms (think UFO) and will also discuss the Gee’s Bend Quilts made by a small remote black community in Alabama.

For planning purposes, please RSVP to president Gloria Robertson if you plan to attend this first in-person meeting since the start of the pandemic. We will need to mask up, and social distance.

This meeting will be at the Shepard Garden and Arts Center, 3300 McKinley Blvd., Sacramento.
